About
I am glad you came by My Sewing Lab. My name is Carolyn and I have been sewing garments (my fave), quilts, and home projects since I was 8 years old. My grandmother introduced me to sewing in a big way. Grandma Covalt would construct all my school clothes (dresses always) when I was young. I remember her laying out 5 dresses on my mothers bed, all ready for my kindergarten year! My favorite was a dress with a mustard yellow bodice and a plaid attached skirt. It was so 70's.
My day job may be as a molecular biologist in a diagnostic lab, but my sewing room is my favorite lab! I would rather diagnose bad sleeves any day.
My goal is to blog sewing ideas that are practical, informational and helpful. I want to give back to those who helped me learn a skill that I cannot imagine my life without.
The best thing in my life is my family and my dog, Lily. I love to involve them in my sewing experiments.
Feedback is always welcome here. Sew on!
